The Gardens
Stratford Gardens is a magnificently landscaped 2.86 acres right on the edge of Bakerview Park.
At Stratford Gardens, you will be able to stroll in your own 4 season garden scape of reflecting pond fountains, lush lawns and trees, flowers and shrubbery.
Our active Landscape and Grounds Advisory Committee has a vision that ‘the landscape and grounds of Stratford Gardens are an integral part of its value-both as a beautiful and enduring place to live and as a significant financial asset for its owners”
The Committee is dedicated to their purpose of ensuring the common area gardens, greenery, landscaping soil and Gardens are organically healthy, safe, well maintained, aesthetically pleasing, eco friendly and environmentally sustainable.

Volunteers
Stratford Gardens has a long tradition of volunteerism.
Volunteer efforts enhance life at Stratford Gardens and help keep our maintenance costs down.
Owners contribute in a myriad of ways, both big and small. Everyone has some talent or ability they can share.
There are many ways that volunteers contribute to our community. Volunteers serve on council, social committees, landscape and gardening committees, nightly security checks, fire marshals and floor coordinators, welcome committee, facility room bookings, and more. Many of our volunteers just pitch in when they can.
This all contributes to the community spirit here at Stratford Gardens.
Going Green
Stratford Gardens is committed to going green whenever we can.
- A new high efficiency boiler system was be installed in summer 2018, which will save energy and costs.
- Stratford Gardens has been upgrading lighting systems to energy efficient and less costly LED lights.
- Our Landscape committee is dedicated to beautifying the gardens in a manner that is organically healthy and eco friendly.
- We have an extensive recycling system that handles glass,organics, cardboard and all recyclables.
- We are making the move to become paperless as much as possible
Tech at Stratford Gardens
- Stratford Gardens has Telus fibre optic wiring for fast internet and TV. Shaw provides both internet and Tv as well.
- Free Wireless internet is available in the amenities room and exercise room and other places around the complex.
- A secure Owner’s Portal for communtion and a place to obtain critical documents such as bylaws, rules and minutes is under review.
Safety and Security
Safety and security is of prime concern for all of us at Stratford Gardens. Many systems and procedures are in place to aid in the safety and security in our homes.
The best security system is our owners, who keep an eye out on the property and each other
- Volunteers perform a nightly security check to ensure that doors are locked, windows closed and report any issues to council.
- Our well lit, underground secured parking is controlled by remote opening and the gates are secured with anti theft mesh.
- Entrances to the parking areas have CCTV cameras, which can be accessed by the security company. The parking garage also features a locked bike storage room.
- Building and facility rooms entrance is also secured by either an electric fob or keys… and in some cases both.
- Visitors use an enterphone to be let in by owners.
- The buildings have a an interior sprinkler system, with smoke detectors and heat detectors.
- Our fire director coordinates with fire safety captains on every floor. Fire systems are testled monthly and there is an annual fire drill. In addition, there is an annual earthquake preparedness seminar.
